Hotel Armchair — Bulk Production

Large-volume hotel orders require a production discipline that is different from bespoke residential work. With 120 units, every variance in fabric tension, foam density, or stitching is multiplied across the fleet.

We implemented a per-batch QC process: every 10th unit was measured against a master reference for seat height, arm height, back angle, and fabric tension before the production run continued.

The 120 units were produced in three batches of 40, each delivered to the respective property with room-level installation documentation.

Splitting a large order into batches usually introduces the exact variation it is meant to avoid, because each batch draws different materials. Here the entire fabric requirement for all 120 chairs was bought in one dye lot and stored, and the foam was ordered against a single specification for the whole run, so batch two and batch three were scheduling decisions rather than material ones.

The chain received QC documentation with each delivery, which matters when the person accepting furniture at a property is not the person who approved the sample. Where a brand standard has to hold across three buildings, the paperwork is what makes it auditable — a property manager can check a delivered chair against the same reference the factory worked to.
